Many months ago, the WSJ asked readers to send in an interesting travel story, and this came to mind. I dashed off an email, forgot completely about it, and then received an email from them asking if they could have a picture and print it! They also asked me to write it in my own handwriting, which you can see here: The Most Memorable Trips.
This trip took place long before I started this site, so this is a fun memory to include. I went there on my brother's standby ticket (he's a pilot) to visit my friend Josephine and her daughter Charlene. I became friends with Josephine in grad school, and it was wonderful to see her, and they were awesome hosts.
